Yellow spots on leaves. Is it overwatering ? I have an Alocasia scalprum that started showing bright yellow spots on some leaves soon after I bought it. It’s been about 2 months, and the mottling seems to be spreading. The spots are random across the blade (not from the margins) and don’t follow a neat interveinal pattern. Newer leaves look better but I’m not confident. What I changed: I repotted from the nursery soil into a chunky aroid mix because the original mix seemed to hold too much water.

Are your newer leaves curling as well? That could be more worrisome than the yellowing. I would personally suspect improper lighting/humidity but on your plant, it seems to be localized on older leaves. I find scalprum especially sensitive to light. Alocasias in general are heavy feeder so just make sure to fertilize frequently to delay losing the oldest leaves.
