recently acquired this lovely big pot of mint 💚 I don’t have a garden so am going to have to keep her indoors, but looking online it says they need a lot of direct sunlight, and so I’m not sure if she’ll survive. I can’t fit her on a window because the pot is too big for all my windowsills, but I’ve put her as close as possible to this south/west facing window in my kitchen (pictured) planta is suggesting I water her almost daily, but the soil is definitely retaining a lot of water & is quite damp already. I really don’t want to kill her & ideally want to keep the mint supply up so I can use it for cooking! any tips? thanks in advance!! xx

Mint needs full direct dun to thrive. It will start to drop leaves this far from a window. Get a strong grow light. Place it close to the mint. Run it at least 12 hours a day. Water only when mostly dry or when the leaves slightly droop. 🪴

thank you so much for your advice! I’ll look into getting a grow light but for now I’ve managed to (precariously) put it on the kitchen window. Does this look any better?

(this window gets a lot of light, this is from 9:30pm hence why it looks a bit gloomy)

It should be a good location. Is it a south window?

Yeah, Sunny is right about the grow light--mint needs a ton of light. Fortunately it's also super easy to propagate. You can put a sprig in a tiny bottle in the windowsill and it'll root fast.
