I bought a plant with rotten roots 😢 I kind of knew from the start but it wasnt too bad at first. I cut the bad roots, sanitized and replaced the soil with slightly damp chunky soil last week. Unfortunately it seems the remaining roots have rotted as well 😭 I decided to cut the vines connected to the roots and just propagate. But i left the vines that seemed to be subsisting solely off aerial roots in the moss pole. Any advice? 🙏🏻
These don’t look rotted to me, are they slimy mush? If anything they look a bit dry. Some plants have white roots, but a lot have brown or red roots; doesn’t mean they’re rotted. If you have the plant still in the pole with roots that should be fine as long as you don’t let the moss dry out completely.
1 like Thank you! I’ll keep an eye on the moss 🙏🏻 Unfortunately the roots were white and strong a week ago but today they are soft mushy and brown. They were coming off with just a gentle touch and the leaves were turning yellow :/
