Help!! My monstera albo has some sort of pest. I bought an insecticidal soap and hope this will kill it but I want to make sure it actually will work for this type of bug. Any advice?

Those look like thrips. Godspeed. You need to isolate that plant immediately. Insecticidal soap is fine, the problem is the adults fly which is what makes them so hard to get rid of. Check your other plants and if they also have them I’d personally go nuclear with a systemic, predatory bugs may help as well.

Agreed on the above. Spray with insecticidal soap or Jacks Dead Bug Brew. You need to be thoroug - top and bottom of the leaves, stem down to the soil line, ect. Combine with Bonides Systemic Granules. I’d recommend treating your entire collection at the same time or the plants that the albo was near by at the minimum.

I agree with the insecticidal soap. I’d use it as frequently as the bottle says you can. You also might try some systemic. That’s what I’ll do if I think it has any sort of pests. Just one note, if you decide to go with predatory mites, you won’t want to use the systemic or the soap as that will kill the predatory bugs as well. Most require that you haven’t used certain forms of insecticide for a specific number of weeks before releasing the predatory mites. Catching it early is going to make things much easier.

i’ve had issues with burning the roots of my plants off with insecticidal soap so just make sure to do what the bottle says, because i got scared and used more than it said and that’s why it happened!
