What do you think is going on with my fern? I’ve checked and checked for pests with a magnifying glass and don’t see any. Burned from the sunlight? It’s in a west facing window and I think mostly gets indirect light. I water to keep soil moist.

I don’t know the same thing happened to my plant
0 Me gustaInteresting! Fern?
0 Me gustaDo the roots look ok? I would suspect possible root rot with the browning being so low on the leaves but I don’t have experience with this type exactly so that is just what I would guess from these Photos
1 me gustaI’ll check!
1 me gustaLet me know! I’m curious now. And it’s a beautiful cobra birdsnest! I’ve had my eye on one for awhile and haven’t pulled the trigger. My husband may kill me if I show up with any more plants 😂
0 Me gustaI would try that for sure. I normally clean my pots out with rubbing alcohol let it Sit for about 5 mins then rinse with soap and water and dry it well just to make sure nothing hangs around. Hopefully that helps and you can clip away the damaged ones in a week or 2 if there’s no more issues 😊

1 me gustaI’ve had this issue with my bird’s nest fern, it’s sensitive to minerals in tap water, so I water it with filtered water. I also regularly use a fungicide as this plant seems to be more prone to it. The soil and roots look good, I read that their roots and soil tend to be more of a dark compacted spongy color. You can repot if you feel like the fronds are getting too big for the pot size. Also, when you’re watering, make sure to not get water in the center where the new growth and new fronds are as they’re super sensitive. You can also trim off the leaves that have this damage as it won’t go away. Otherwise, it looks like a very hearty and healthy plant.
