I took a risk with my mom’s stagnant pothos, and I’m worried I’ve ruined it. I learned the plant was about 7 years old but hadn’t grown much. It was mostly a few stems each 2-3 feet long that were wrapped around a pole with 2-5 leaves on the ends. I took a bunch of cuttings to prop them, and they are doing great! But the original plant, not so much. All of the roots looked good, so I repotted it then trimmed down the leggy stems and buried them back into the soil hoping the nodes would root. It looked fine for a while, but now the leaves that were left are turning color or getting black spots. I’m relatively new to the plant world, so it wouldn’t surprise me if I’ve done something wrong. Maybe the pot is too big so it’s staying too damp too long? I don’t see any signs of pests. I have it in a room with lots of light during the day and a bit of direct sun in the evening.
