What are these spots on my philodendron narrow? Don’t mind the dust, I’m just about to clean him Edit: could it be from extrafloral nectaries? I’ve noticed the sap on the back of the leaves occurs in the same spot.

Could be burns from the sun, if you mist this guy in bright sunlight, the drop of water can sometimes work like a magnifying glass pointed at the sun and cause little burns like this! I know I've done it before lol. Could be pest damage also, but I'm sure someone else could tell you more about those!

I never mist my plants. Definitely thinking some kind of pest or bacterial issue? I’ve only ever had spider mites so I’m not sure what to do. Thanks for your response!

Philodendrens like that one will do this. I believe its normal or idk why they do that. Sorry. I've had one for 5 years , no pests. It just has those dots on a few leaves.

Thank you so much! I was surprised because it seems so healthy and still putting out new leaves. Good to know this is normal!
