First, let me thank all you plant pros who help out us noobs. I have 29 thriving houseplants and one problem child, my coffee plant. The ends of the leaves get crispy. Coffee plants apparently need a lot of water, and I tend to be a little stingy when watering houseplants, so I don’t think this is from overwatering; but underwatering is a possibility. I switched to only filtered water for this guy, but that hasn’t stopped the problem. Maybe it needs more humidity? It is under a grow light.

I have one & one that i gave one to my Best friend who is new to plants! it definitely does like more water! But not too much Where Its sitting in water 24/7. I find myself watering it More often like My alocasia’s! (I also am based in Florida so Definitely My Climate lol) The browning On the tips is a indication that it needs more water! they also can burn Very easily which too much sun (Which Grow lights are Fine with them). it could also be From Needing to be repotted if you are Watering it often but still having problems of browing/crispy! BUT If you Think your underwatering it You can get some self watering pots from amazon! I can send the name of the ones ive used before if your interested!

Thank you for your response. I will try watering it more, maybe follow Planta’s advice more rigorously. I’m not ready for self-watering pots, but that might be just the thing for this “high water needs” plant.

From my experience, they're fussy about their water. Rainwater or water that you've used a conditioner on (eg. aquarium water conditioner) that helps get rid of chlorine and makes it gentler for your plants/fish) can help get rid of the brown tips.

It needs more humidity. That's usually what crispy tips means. You can try misting, or if you know you won't be consistent, Mr stingy H2O.... lol... you can try a pebble tray under it

I have some and really don't have problems with them...at least when it comes to watering. I did have one that wouldn't grow because the pot was too big and another that was suffering from nutrient deficiency because the fertilizer i was using wasnt great but thats beside the point. I usually let them get almost dry, like when I stick my finger in the soil and its dry I water. But if it is still just barely damp I will pry water it anyways. Def check and see if it needs to be repotted. Mine haven't been super fussy about humidity but if the air in your house is really dry it def wouldn't hurt to work on that. Hope this helps!

Super thrive Grow liquid plant food, 7-9-5.

Ok...some of those leaves look like mine did when I was using a miracle grow fertilizer, but that seems like it'd be a good fertilizer. The one I now use is the same brand, just super thrive foliage pro instead of super thrive gro. It is a 9-3-6 tho, so that's def a different ratio. If the leaves keep looking pale with darker veins after its stopped getting brown tips mayber switch your fertilizer. But it could just be part of the whole browning leaves situation, so fix that first.
