Has anyone seen this weird spiral looking growth from a mint plant before?? It looks decently healthy but I have never seen anything like it! I wonder what caused it to happen. Thoughts??

I saw a post somewhere else that someone had a mint plant do the same thing. I have no idea why it’s doing that… One idea online was that the leaves twist to find more light? But their plant had other stems that were normal too.

All I can think is maybe a genetic mutation (or alternatively a virus or, less likely, a nutrient issue) causing a gene to be expressed irregularly creating a protein folding mishap of some form. 🧐 it’s very interesting
