Hello, I’ve noticed this health issue with my Camellias. I would like help from someone who knows for certain, or at least as certain as one can be. Thanks. I have three of the same type, Debutante. Can anyone help me identify the problem? Does it look fungal? Or is it a pest? They are in a location (in zone 9 CA) where even in winter the tops are exposed. Please don’t guess or offer kind suggestions. I need expert guidance or advice. Thank you all very much 🪴

Hello, I’d recommend asking the Planta team themselves about this issue (the little stethoscope button along the bottom screen of this app). Or taking a few leaves to your local garden center or horticultural center to have it looked at. What I love about this community is that we all aren’t experts in everything (never could be) but we try to help others and brainstorm ideas based off our own experience, basically a communal think tank. Takes a village to even raise plants sometimes 💚

I love camelia's! They will not grow in my area so I don't know much about them but, I did a little googling, you should look up about Camellia yellow mottle virus. If your plant has this virus it is not curable and I'm thinking you should destroy the plant. This is unfortunate because camelia's are so beautiful. If it's limited to one plant ask your local nursery how to keep it from spreading. Sorry to not be more encouraging about it.

Please don't act just on what I said because as I stated I know little about Camellia but your picture looked similar to the virus pictures online. Ask someone in your area to confirm or disagree with what I've said.
