Some of my pothos leaves are yellowing and I think this is a root growing outside of the soil??? Is this pot too small? It’s a single vine

It might need more light. Water as soon as the soil dries. Reduce or stop fertilizing if the plant slows or stops growing in colder months. Excess fertilizer can cause yellowing/burns. Use distilled or filtered water if the tap water is too hard. 🪴🍀
1 me gustaIf you want more than one stem you can prop it is soil or water
0 Me gustaI did that today! I’m just concerned that this root is growing outside the soil and it’s hard like a branch?
1 me gustaYa thats just fine its just an arial root
1 me gustaIt is super thirsty and being burned by the light due to the little waiter the roots are getting. You could pin the vine down on the top of the soil surface in a pinwheel fashion, the vine will re root in the soil and hopefully gather more nutrients to become healthier!
1 me gustaOhhh interesting. Thank you!
1 me gustashe's thirsty! and that is in fact a root, all vining plants also climb, and pothos put out aerial roots in the hopes they attach to something so they can go up. however, they're also really good for propagation, because they function just like normal roots when you put them in soil or water.
2 Me gustaThanks everyone! I’m still new to this
0 Me gustaThe roots growing outside a branch is nothing more than an aerial roots. If you can coil your one vine into the piot, it will grow more roots and vine off the original vine. Thst will make the plant bushier. I have done that to my golden, and even bought another starter plant for $5 from one of the big box stores and now it is very bushy. This is after I cute it this summer and propped it, and after I recently neglected it for almost a month. 🤦🏽♀️
