First time plant owner! I have been trying to find how much grow light my Scarlet Star needs but everything I read just says “bright, indirect sunlight”. I don’t have natural light I can keep it in so I have to use a grow light. What would you recommend for the length of time I have my grow light on? (I just got this plant so I’m still working on getting it put in a different pot so if you have advice on how to do that without killing it, that would also be helpful!)

I don’t think your plant is listed on here, but I have found this site so helpful. Using an actual light meter has been very informative! Can’t post the link, but the website is called House Plant Journal and you can search for “grow light requirements by plant”

I have my grow lights on for 12 to 14 hours. The ones that are on for 12 hours the timer won’t let me add more time. And in the winter, I’ll reduce that a little bit so the plants can rest. But it also depends on the strength of the light and how close your plant is to it. I would just find out if your plant can handle full sun and if it can give it some good strong light.
