This part of my corn plant turned black and is wet/soggy to touch. Can anyone let me know what is going on and how to go about fixing this?

if that stem is soggy, it’s rotten & there’s no fixing it unfortunately. it’ll eventually die off completely, you can either cut it off now or wait for it to die off. to prevent future rot on other parts of the plant, make sure you’re watering the plant in relation to how dry the soil is & maybe give this plant more light. they don’t need a ton of light but they still need a decent amount. it’s possible that you may have root rot as well so i’d check the roots & prune/repot as necessary. the best size pot is one that’s a couple inches wider than the root ball, no bigger, so if you find that the roots have dwindled, downsizing the pot may look funny but would make it easier for the plant to regrow roots.
