Hey everyone! 🌱One of the leaves in my Amazonian elephant ear is crispy, dry, and yellowish black almost. I did the AI app and it says I’m under watering but I also saw a post of something similar and said they are over watering so which one is it? Does this signal over or under watering? Also, there is one other leaf that has yellow spots all over? Is this due to too much sunlight (indirect?) For vis, I water nearly every 2 weeks (I can go under or over that occasionally), 16 oz of water sometimes with fertilizer sometimes without. Some help please 🆘🌱

  1. Waspinator

Definitely fungal, likely caused by overwatering/poor drainage. Check for root rot and treat roots with hydrogen peroxide if needed. It can help to add higher drainage soil at the bottom 1-2 inches of the pot. Replace all soil if you find root rot; if the roots are healthy then just aerate/loosen what's already there. Alocasias can also benefit from a relatively tight fit in their pot. Sterilize some pruners and remove the two worst affected leaves. Treat the other leaves with a preventive fungicide (neem oil or hydrogen peroxide)

Also avoid letting affected leaves touch healthy leaves
