You can also get mosquito bits and soak them in water to make a tea and then water your plants with that. Sticky traps will only capture some adults. There may be larva in the soil so you will have to treat that as well or they won’t go away

mosquito bits are small pellets that help to kill things like gnats and the larvae in the soil.

In addition to other comments, also make sure your pot has drainage holes. If it holds too much moisture it can attract gnats.

I use insecticide when I water, spray leaves with neem oil, and have systemic granules in my soil :) any of these help. Neem oil can also be used as an additive in the water

For a plant that’s going to be repotted, I discard all soil and (nicely) spray the roots with water before I repot. It’s been the most immediate and effective way to get rid of them for me

I love neem oil but it can be stinky 😅 I add peppermint castille soap (~1 tsp per liter) to minimize the smell

Do you add it to the soil? Thanks for your comment!

This is my holy grail. Same thing as the mosquito bits but you can just add one drop to like a gallon of water and it wipes them out. I add them with every watering and it lasts forever since you need so little

Put a layer of sand above the soil. Completely disrupts their life cycle. Haven’t had gnats in years.
