Currently Iā€™m struggling with gnats in my plants. Does anyone have any tips to get rid of them?

    Iā€™ve been using mosquito bit ā€œteaā€ with all of my watering and yellow mosquito traps which has definitely made a difference

      Also - if you think your plant can handle it, sometimes a complete repot (outside to avoid cross contamination) and a wash down can help.

    I've done both of the above. I also changed out my soil for something chunkier with more pumice and orchid bark mixed in for better drainage and occasionally I airated the soil with a chop stick to avoid it staying wet.

    Few things that have helped me: switching up my potting soil, getting plug-in sticky traps, and most recently, I got a few carnivorous plants. Theyā€™ve been loving my sundew!

    Mosquito bits and yellow sticky traps (traps are mostly just a diagnostic measurement tool to see the decrease in gnats over time) mosquito bits will have a trillion warnings on the bag but are extremely safe to use. Making the tea can be a pain and make it hard to stay consistent but it works wonders.

    Also itā€™ll say on the bits to do every week or so but donā€™t drown your plants just add the mosquito bits to your regular water cycle in the warmer months until the gnats are essentially gone then you can just maintain with bits in every couple water cycles

    Also donā€™t just throw them in the soil. Itā€™s safe but the bits can certainly moldy. Iā€™ve tried it all

    Seconding the person who said to use mosquito bits! Itā€™s the only thing thatā€™s ever worked for me. You can get a bag of mosquito bits in the garden section of your local hardware store, and it should have instructions on how to dissolve the bits in water which you can then water your plants with - make sure to cover all the soil. The mosquito bit water will kill the gnat larvae and you can use sticky traps to take care of the adult gnats.

    Most important is to spray your soil, with whatever anti-pest spray of your choosing, after every single watering.
