What happening to my Pearls & Jade Pothos??! These two leaves are coming in already dead!! 😠Like squishy and rotten dead! I just realized she has the thrips epidemic that’s going through my jungle. But would that cause this??

Does this pot have drainage holes? If not I’d say it’s probably a watering issue.
0 gillningarYes it does. It does seem to take a long time to dry out though, maybe I should change up the soil to something with extra drainage?
0 gillningarI agree, it looks like it’s been overwatered. Let them dry out between waterings. I always think of where my plants originate in the wild. Pothos are more tropical. They thrive in heat and long time without water, humid conditions followed by a downpour every couple weeks. Also think about the type of soil they grow in naturally when potting. Pothos are usually growing in sandy soil and usually at the base of trees that they use to climb. So cactus soil or soil with extra sand, perilite added
1 gillaYeah, I do. But even in summer that would take a long time. Like it would be weeks before it was dry enough to water again. So now that it’s winter it’s probably just not warm enough to dry it out. Time for a repot then with different soil!
1 gillaOoh you replied as I edited and added that part 😂 yep repot into better draining soil. They also thrive in terracotta better. The pot if glazed or plastic holds in too much water. I noticed that my ferns do better in plastic or glazed. But my low water plants do better in clay/terracotta
0 gillningarOh and sometimes they like to go into a little plant shock after a repot. But they bounce back quickly. Just handle the roots gently and it shouldn’t have too many issues. I’ve been rough on a couple of mine, they did have some shock, but still bounced back, so not a super big deal, but if you’re able to do it without messing with roots too much you should. Spray with antifungal spray if you have some or neem oil if you see any root rot or fungal smell.
1 gillaOkay. Repotted but the roots were beautiful and healthy, nothing stinky, the soil really not even really wet, just mildly damp. I still added some perlite, coco bark We The Wild Enrich Powder, and repotted it. But it’s not root rot. That much I’ve ascertained. I don’t have another terra cotta pot available, otherwise I’d move it. So next guess is thrips. Or fungus?? How would I figure out if it’s fungus?
