Help! My prayer plant leaves have started to wilting and drying like it is not getting enough water. I water it often and check to make sure the soil is moist. I had notice me that the water drains immediately, maybe too fast to feed. Has anyone ever had this issue or have any thoughts to help retain water? Thanks!

This looks like it could be hydrophobic soil or the plant might be root bound with very little soil left. If water is running straight through, the roots may not actually be absorbing much. I’d gently check the roots to see what you’re working with. Also, terracotta wicks away moisture, which is usually counterproductive for prayer plants—switching to a plastic pot and fresh, moisture-retentive mix should help a lot. Once the roots can hold onto water again, it should start to perk up 💚

If she’s super root bound then yes size up but no more than 2” larger than the rootball 🪴

Also, I like to bottom water mine. I have it sitting in a plastic catch tray and I'll constantly keep a little water in the tray, so it doesn't dry out.
