Have a leafy Camilla that is otherwise in great health, but today has tons of teeny tiny black bugs seemingly out of nowhere. I’ve had it about 6 months, this is the first time I’ve seen them! What the heck are they and how do I get rid of them without killing the plant?

I would try to replant it and see if that would help

If you haven’t repotted these almost certainly came from the soil — and they might be thrips, which fly. look up treatments online but start by isolating this from your other plants and repotting

Thrips reproduce aggressively and most natural sprays will not be strong enough to knock them out. Be sure to get 1 topical spray (natural) to treat the immediate problem and 1 systemic to attack the eggs they lay in the tissue.
