Just found thrips on two of my houseplants and I’m devastated. Isolated them from the others immediately (I think the others seem okay), but I’m at a loss. I know this is super hard to treat. Are the plants done for?

Not necessarily. Remove all leaves with damage. Take your plants to the shower or outside and spray them off really well. Get a strong pesticide spray that lists thrips as a target. Spray every 5-7 days for at least 21 days. You’ll also need to treat the soil. Depending on where you are and what you have access to you can water with systemic granules or do a thick coating of Diatomaceous earth on top of the soil.

If your infected plants had been near your others I would treat everything, even if you think they’re okay.

You will totally be okay. I’ve managed to get rid of them despite a pretty sizeable infestation!

PlauntieUnfortunately mine too. I didn’t see the thrips, but the damage from it, according to Planta diagnosis. They are on punishment in my spare bathroom. Shower them weekly and use captain Jacks Dead Bug weekly. Imma try to treat for the 4 weeks and if they don’t look like they will survive. I will toss them.
