I have a Calathea Dottie. I got her a couple of weeks ago from a local plant store. She was doing okay but she is getting worse every day I have tried everything on planta. I have repotted, added sun, took sun away, watered more, watered less, added fertilizer. I thought I saw some bugs, but I am not for sure. Any suggestions would be extremely appreciated! The first picture is current the second one was the first signs of distress I saw.

Hmm, it sounds like it could just be super stressed out from all the dramatic changes. Just leave it in one spot, water when the top layer dries out. I would put in an east facing window. You have to give it time. I see it has a few new leaves coming out. There is hope, but you have to give it time.

Also, I would cut away the dead leaves, those aren’t coming back. But the new leaves coming out look promising

One more question, does the pot have holes? It almost looks mushy, like water logged?

It is a calathea. Stop doing all the crazy stuff. Low level ignore her. This advice 👆🏼 is super solid. Pick a place. Water when soil is dry 1/4-1/2 the way down the pot and leave her alone.

For future reference try one thing and give it a few weeks to acclimate before making so many changes. Repotting alone shocks plants and fertilizer hurts more than helping when the plant is already stressed. And don’t feel discouraged, calatheas can be difficult.

My calathea looks like that too! I’m pretty sure it’s underwatering for me 😅 but I really hope you can save yours ❤️❤️❤️
