    The bottom portion is a dragon fruit cactus. You can buy a plant that size for about $10. Online videos show how to splice the two cacti together if you want to save the top cactus. Just splice it onto a new plant.

    yea too much water/too little light or a humid environment can cause it also sandy soil add more perlite/less potting soil
