Hi Everyone! I have a lemon tree that was just BUSTING with blooms and new growth. I had kept it watered, just right, at the same time every day without fail. One day I got a stomach bug and was in bed, but I forgot to have someone water my plants and we had a horrible scorching day, when we had been having nice mild sunny days up until then. It got completely fried and dried out!(As did all of my other plant babies!)and I was in an air-conditioned room so I did not realize how hot it was outside. So I watered it gently and hoped it would be ok. I lamented to my husband about the situation, and, unbeknownst to me, he tried to “help” my plants by setting our sprinkler to get them along with the lawn. It was a nice thought, but he didn’t know that would constitute excessive overwatering. To make everything even worse, the timer on our sprinkler failed and that water was on them ALL NIGHT LONG! When he told me that, I rushed out to see the damage. Most of my plants seemed ok, but my gorgeous lemon tree had lost MOST of its gorgeous, healthy leaves! There was also signs of insect damage which I’d never seen before. All of the blossoms look terrible, and I have a bad feeling the tiny lemons inside some of the blossoms will just fall off soon. This particular plant is my BABY! Now I don’t know what to do. If I lose it completely I’ll be so devastated!! I was just about to repot it but now I know the ensuing shock will probably be the end of it, so I’m holding off for now. Any advice on what to do with a truly scorched and then drown Meyer Lemon tree? Any help would be SO appreciated! Do I dare feed it? Or hold off until it recovers?(IF it recovers!)
