      not a lot of things mess with mint in my experience. I think it’s probably a little cutworm

    The mint I have in pots in my London garden regularly gets eaten by slugs. But I agree that the black stuff in your photo is probably caterpillar faeces. Check your mint plant, especially after dark. You might be able to catch them red handed.
