I think that happens when the plant is getting ready to have new growth and it is making room for the babies. I’m pretty sure you can remove the yellow leaf ◡̈ *research further of course to be safe, but I have heard that and have removed the yellow leaves on my plants without issue!

My yellow leaves usually fall off on their own, but I do remove them occasionally. Mine were near the plant’s base, and appeared to be making room for new growth too. 🪴💚

Mine are usually caused by it being an older leaf and the plant trying to produce new ones. My monstera currently has 1 that is turning black/yellow but it’s producing like 5-6 new leaves at the same time
