Hi guys! I bought a pothos from walmart last week and she looks to have spider mites. Never delt with this before but from my understanding i should dunk her in soapy room temp. water and keep her isolated from my other plants. She has brown rips, tears and holes throughout so im wondering will she repair herself or should i cut them off? Appreciate any help or suggestions! Thanks in advance :)

Those rips and tears look like normal mechanical damage ie leaves getting banged up from being moved around (especially the way they are handled at a big box store)! What makes you think spider mites? Have you seen webbing?

im not sure what webbing looks like but i seen something like cobwebs around the base of the plant and looking at the leaves i seen a tiny bug, hoping im wrong about the possibility of spidermites now lol!

I don’t see anything off the bat that would necessarily suggest spider mites. The cuts seem normal and probably just weren’t kept in the best conditions at Walmart! They’re very resilient plants so just see how it does over the next few weeks and go from there :)

I would like to politely add that for future reference, both from what my plant mom cousin has told me as well as from my own experience, Walmart, Home Depot, and Lowe’s are infamous for having bug infested plants, likely partially because they’re often located RIGHT NEXT to the constantly opening doors of the outdoor gardening area. In no way trying to sound mean. I don’t want you to think it’s naturally a bug that entered YOUR house. It might’ve come from the store is all I’m saying
