Hello! Just got this string of bananas as a gift and just want to check if the white stuff I’m seeing is mealy bug or just shedding or whatnot?? Hard to get my phone to take a good picture of it

    Looks like mealy bug to me. I would trim off any of that you see and spray with all seasons oil or apply a systemic pesticide. Or do all three and keep the plant away from your other plants.

    If it's not nearly bug none of this will hurt it.
