Hi I purchased a Venus fly trap today and repotted in a 50/50 perlite and peat moss mix and watered with distilled water. Any tips to make this guy a bit happier/healthier? It appears the leaves are all droopy/laying down after repotting. First is when purchased and second is after repotting. Thanks in advance 😊

I have yet to own one (hopefully soon though), but look into their yearly cycles. They are native to North Carolina and are winter-hardy. Many people keep them outside in that climate and they insulate well under snow. If you don’t get winter, people keep them in their fridge for some time. Look into “plants with krystal”. She lives in Texas and is a great content creator about carnivorous plants.💕

This is me being totally pedantic but I’m pretty sure she lives in Indiana lol. Love her vids too!

Maybe, I can’t remember too well😅 It could be someone else that lives in Texas I’m thinking of. Still love her!

This plant likes to stay evenly moist consistently ! You could even partially submerge it in water! I highly suggest watching a YouTube video on care for these plants. It will be much more informative :))) YouTube is my go to

Distilled is good. They need to be in a water tray. Water about 1/2 up the pot. At all times. They need bright light. And if they don't have access to bugs you will need to feed it. Do not feed the same trap every time, they only close like 3x before dying. California Carnivore has a great YouTube and website on Carnivorous care. They do do best outdoors if you're in mild to temperate climate

Mine did so much better when I put her in a water tray. Keep distilled water in it. And let it get direct sun at least half the day. You have the right pot mixture
