Hello all! I've been noticing this white residue on my Godzilla pothos and I can't quite figure out what it is. It's only on the new growth as pictured, however the only answer I'm getting through Google is mealy bugs. And that would suck. So I'm hoping it's not that. Anyone got any ideas? I seriously appreciate the help!
It’s hard to say the pic is a little blurry, but if it looks powdery or cottony and appears especially in the leaf joints it’s probably mealy bugs. Either way it won’t hurt your plant to dip a qtip in 70% rubbing alcohol and rub it on the white stuff just to be safe.

The picture on the left is clear enough to me. That is absolutely an infestation of mealybugs starting. What the other commenter said about the rubbing alcohol should work, but you have to treat the soil and the plant to make sure that the life cycle is interrupted, or else you will have an infestation again in a couple of weeks.

0 J'aime I just tossed the bottle i was using as I ran out, but it was an organic bioinsecticide. However, I also use this organic insecticidal soap, which i sometimes pour into the soil. I spray on the leaves, and it helps. The good news is that those mealybigs are young, so their coats are not thick yet. So the soap should help.
You can spray the soap heavily on the soil of the plant, and then water to let the soap soak into the soil.
0 J'aime Best thing to do is repot. But I have lots of outdoor crops and plants, so not always feasible.
