Let your plant completely dry out. Use the traps. I use a spray from amazon

If you like any excuse to get a new plant you can get a carnivorous one that’ll eat the gnats 😄 I hear people use nematodes as well. Letting the soil dry out does help but can be hard for those plants that like to stay consistently moist and the sticky traps help like someone else mentioned.

I do have a Venus fly trap near some of my plants and I’ve noticed less gnats maybe I’ll get another one!

I’ve also heard mosquito bits. Bottom watery can help reduce. There are also some dirt less mediums like rosy soil

Maybe add diatomaceous earth next time you water (1tbsp per liter or quart). That should kill any unborn pests in the soil. And sticky traps, which help catch the adults. Worked for me so far. Good luck!

Bottom watering prevents them. Using mosquito bits and sticky traps helps get rid of them

You can also use a spray made of water and dish soap. It kills them in contact! I hope you get rid of them!

Honestly, I’m thinking of getting a Sundew—a carnivorous plant that I’m told is especially good at catching gnats. I don’t have many fungus gnats but they are still annoying. Good luck!

Has anyone tried the hydrogen peroxide and water method? I also have gnats and am thinking about trying it. I have a cup with water, apple cider vinegar, dish soap and sugar mixed in it (best to search how to correctly do it, if you do try that) near the plants with gnats and it catches so many, it’s ridiculous! But it doesn’t completely get rid of them, since the eggs.

I use the hydrogen peroxide mix and it definitely helps control it. If I forget one time though they re back. It should be great if you’re consistent.

Hydrogen peroxide mix or systemic granules. Cinnamon will help prevent once you get them under control. I also have the zeevo plug in sticky trap that attracts the flies to the trap. It’s been a MASSIVE life saver. The off brand refills from Amazon are fairly cheap for it too.
