Is that a whole stem dying off? And is that a Shiba Inu in the background? 👀👀

Oh my yay!! Is it a boy?? Don’t think me like a weirdo but I’m looking for a husband for my girl Shiba because I want her to have babies and it’s been so hard 😏

Alas, she’s a very feisty lady, not to my knowledge able to sire pups. (She’s also not mine, we’re dog sitting for a friend…)

Looks like overwatering to me. Definitely check the roots for anything mushy

Are you watering with distilled water or rain water? Prayer plants are sensitive to lime, so they cant have tap water. I have also found that my prayer plant does best growing in water rather than soil. I would honestly cut off all the dead stems (even if that leaves you with a stump) and check + clean your roots. Either repot in a less dense soil that has more aeration, or try growing in water. Hope this helps!

      Filtered but not distilled!

Yeah unfortunately filtered water still won’t be safe for this guy. Next time it rains, set out a few tupperware or cups and store the collected rainwater in a container with a lid. I did this so I don’t have to buy distilled water!

I use bottled water for mine (I have three). I my lemon lime started doing this last winter and was down to 4 leaves, it’s bouncing back and growing new leaves now. I also started using a water conditioner. I’m testing it on my healthier ones and they seem to like it.

i highly recommend this product or a similar water conditioner like seachem prime, it will make filtered water safe for prayer plants. plus at around $7 it is significantly cheaper and more environmentally friendly than distilled water
