I have had a money tree for about a year, and my cats started urinating in the pot and now I am trying to bring it back. Need advice here.

oouch - never delt with this before but i would def repot - throroughly rinse the roots, i would also probably spray with diluted hydrogen peroxide, and take some preventative measures to try to keep them from doing this again. maybe something like putting some aluminum foil loosely over the soil, or something else that would prevent them from fully sitting in the pot. good luck!!
2 Me gustaWould it shock the plant? I did that with the fig, and the leaves fell out. And I just have a twig sticking out now .

fiddle leaf figs are very sensitive to change and are known for their dramatics. most other plants handle repots better :)
0 Me gustaDefinitely repot and spray down. If the pot is pourous at all, i would toss it. Then sprinkle cayenne on the soil to deter any further urinating. You can even put it in a spray bottle and spritz the leaves too. You shouldn't have to keep doing it. They usually leave it alone after awhile.
2 Me gustaPet stores have sprays that tastes awful that deters pets when sprayed on an object. I’ve used them many years ago to stop my puppies from chewing the coffee table legs, the window sills and the door frames. It’s extremely bitter.
