So this is what’s left of my split leaf philodendron! I watched all the leaves turn to mush one by one! This little sprout has remained like this for months? What is it and should it be covered with soil? So perplexed!

Split leaf philodendrons need full sun and warm temperatures to sprout after winter. I’ve had many that lost all the leaves and grew them back in spring (80°F temps). Wilting leaves could be root rot. Watering too often or roots sitting in wet soil too long can cause it. Do not follow the Planta app watering schedule without verifying the soil actually needs water. Use a wooden meat skewer or similar tool to check for moisture in the soil. Water when the soil is dry. Move it to full sunlight or get it a strong grow light. It needs at least 8 hours of full sun and regular fertilizer. 🍀🪴

Don’t cover it. That green section is the only part of the plant absorbing light in the photosynthesis process. Covering any of the remaining plant can cause root rot.
