Accidentally let my ZZ plant sit in water for who knows how long. One of the roots is fuzzy. Should I be concerned?

I was supposed to water it today but I’m thinking of waiting a day or two. The top 2 inches of soil is dry…

ZZ plants have rhizomes that hold water. I would let the soil completely dry out before watering again or you risk rot

No, they’re water roots. Them staying white and fuzzy is a good sign. I’d check the rest of the roots for root rot though.

The fuzz are micro roots that pull water into the plant from the soil or from water. Removing the standing water will let that root dry out.

You’re en route to semi hydro there! You could always just pour a centimetre of 1/4 strength fertiliser in the base and leave it there until it’s dried up! Then repeat! Lol

These are my favourite kind of roots! Basically water roots. 🙃
