Hello! My wife and I are first time homeowners and one of our first projects was to clean up all of the dead/overgrown plants. We are hoping to save this Sumac Bailtiger (at least that’s what I believe it is) but are having no luck. 1.) Is there any hope or is it a lost cause? 2.) Any tips to try and revive this guy? Any advice is appreciated!

There's definitely hope. Sumac is ridiculously hardy. Idk how to actively help it, but as long as the roots are alive, it'll be back

Use a fingernail and scrape ever so slightly on the growing stem. If it green, it will live. And water the heck out of it. It clearly dried out. They need a lot of water - a lot. I water this one in a giant pot still almost every couple days in summer.
