That’s a normal thing that happens for me. If you don’t want this to happen, you can increase humidity and if all the leaves start doing this, you can rehab in water (I do the same).

I haven’t killed an alocasia since last Fall. Two things I changed: 1) put them ALL in pon and self-watering pots 2) shower them monthly to rinse away any possible pests. I killed THREE Jacklyn’s before this. Now she lived thru winter and is putting out new growth!

I think it’s normal for older leaves to yellow and drop off. When you have new leaf growth the plant would rather redistribute the nutrients to the new growth.

It could be a nutrients thing. There are certain nutrients that move throughout the plant, making their way to the newest growth. When that happens the older leaves kinda give up like that. If you don’t want that to happen I’d recommend researching some fertilizer options.

    1. How often are you watering it? 2. Is the watering schedule strictly Planta with no random waterings in between? 3. What kind of soil is that? 4. As small and young as it is, did you start it from a corm? 5. What percentage of humidity is the air? 6. Are there any cold drafts coming from the window? It could be a number of things. I suspect that whatever the root cause is, it may be leading to unhappy roots. You might want to pull the plant out of the pot and look at the them. You want the roots to be white and healthy looking. On a Silver Dragon, the roots are typically very fine. If you do pull it out, take a few pics from a few angles so we can see the roots too. As far as getting a good food, that will only be effective if the roots are healthy. If they aren’t able to effectively take up nutrients, it will starve the same as if you didn’t feed it. A great option for feeding is, “Dyna-Gro Foliage Pro.” It has an NPK of 9-3-6. You can find it on Amazon.
