Hello, I recently purchased an alocasia infernalis. It’s only been two days, and one of the leaves stem’s has browned, drooped, and brown spots have popped up around the edges. I have it under a grow light, have a pebble tray underneath it, have a humidifier in the room, and just watered it 2 days ago… it may just been stressed because it’s in a new environment, but wanted to see if there are some experienced alocasia people that might know how to help?

    Alocasias are such a struggle, I’ve never been able to keep one happy for long! It seems those who have success are growing them in some kind of semi hydro

    I have only ever been able to grow alocasia’s in leca, they seem to dislike soil and rot away in it. I would recommend trying leca, just remove all dirt from the roots and put into a container with leca and drainage holes, then keep that container in a dish of water making sure that the water level is below where the roots start.

    I have mine planted in Leca and sitting in some water. Hated being in dirt and they’ve been doing way better now. I love alocasias so much but they’re so finicky
