Found this spider in my room after cleaning up some pebbles from my lemon tree that had webbing. Now a bunch of my plants have webbing. Anyone know what kind of spider this is? I live in New Jersey. My lemon tree was outside this summer so maybe it was living in the soil for awhile?

I can’t tell what type it is from the picture, but I can tell you it’s not harmful. There are only a couple dangerous spiders in the US.

Do you have examples of the webbing? Because it might be spider mites and it is only a coincidence that you found a spider as it would not spend energy webbing a bunch of leaves.

That's an orbweaver for sure. It's probably a labyrinth orbweaver, but it could also be a furrow orb or common house spider. They're all totally harmless and will eat pests for you

A Google lens search thinks that it is a common spitting spider or a pirate spider.
