Hi! I got an Anthurium Queremalese plant last week which I thought was healthy and simply had some burn spots on the leaves, but as the days have passed the leaves are getting more yellow and damaged. I’ve turned the leaves over and the smallest leaves have these larvae - though I have no idea what they might be. What’s the best I can do/ advice to save this plant? Thank you!

Unfortunately, I agree, this looks like typical thrips damage and their larvae. Not gonna lie, thrips are super difficult to get rid of (unless you are okay with chemical treatments), I have accepted that I will continually be managing them because somehow they always find themselves on my houseplants. 😫 I go the natural route, hosing the plant down with water and do this or an insecticidal soap every other day for at least three weeks, then weekly for a month to manage their life cycle. I continue to monitor as part of plant self care and routine care.

Agree this is thrips. If you go the chemical route you can use systemic granules, which you mix into the soil and water through once every 8 (?) weeks. This helps the plant from the inside - pest sucks on plant, pest dies from chemical. In addition to the systemic, you can use Captain Jack’s Dead Bug Brew. You spray this on, getting in the nooks and crannies. I lost a BEAUTIFUL monstera to thrips last year when I TRIED to go the more natural route. My dog doesn’t mess with my plants so I don’t worry about the chemical

Thank you for the info! Yeah, I’m trying the natural route, if not I’ll go the chemical way to try to save this one!!
