Can anyone tell me what’s wrong with my Monstera and how I can fix it? I bought it less than a month ago, it’s still in its nursery pot and I haven’t watered it yet because the soil was very moist. It’s near a south east facing window.

It could be a sign of over watering especially if more leaves start to look like this one. Carefully pull off the nursery pot and check the roots for rot. Rotting roots are dark, mushy and smelly. Avoid breaking healthy roots. Cut away rot and disinfect everything with hydrogen peroxide. The water taking too long to dry out could be affected by the change in the environment especially if the plant looked healthy when bought. Professional growers create ideal conditions for the plants. The temperatures could be warmer which helps the plant grow faster and use the water faster. Also, pro nurseries have fans to control humidity and help dry excess moisture. The top soil will dry faster with a fan blowing. You may have to change to a soil mix with more perlite, coco coir and orchid bark chips to help with drainage and faster drying. Soils with moss like peat and sphagnum takes longer to dry. The new growth at the back looks healthy. It could be an older leaf dying off as it adjusts to the new environment. 🪴🍀

I’m no expert. But I’ve never seen that kind of pattern on a leaf before if it was light or water related. I would suggest applying a fungicide or neem oil. Neem wouldn’t hurt it regardless.
