I have this fern (I think…) that hasn’t been watered in a week and it’s not looking too good. I just watered it, but do you think it’s beyond a point of return?

Those dry wilted leaves will not come back. Those maiden hair ferns are finicky. I don't think it will ever look nice again. But that's just me I've given up on them. 😆😏

Maidenhair ferns are very dramatic. Even if you keep the soil moist (they like that), the leaves will always get brown and dry without high humidity.

Should I mist it like daily?

Yeah, that would help. Or put it in your bathroom if you have natural light coming through a window in there.

If the root system is still good and healthy, you could literally chop off all the leaves at the base in the spring time to start fresh. As long as it has nutrients to feed on (repot it or water it with plant food), it will send out new growth.
