Please help. How do I treat these black spots on my plant. And what’s the cause of it?
I think they are caused by a fungal or bacterial infection
1 gillaMake sure that the drainage is good and it’s not in a pool of water if this doesn’t work just ask for options
2 gillningarWear gloves to prevent the spread of the mildew or bacterial infection. Change out the soil if it’s wet. Trim root rot, if found. The roots will be mushy and smell swampy if there is rot. Rinse all the soil off. Disinfect the cutting tools and hands to reduce the spread. Disinfect the remaining healthy roots with hydrogen peroxide. Disinfectant the pot. Ensure the pot is appropriately sized. There should be less than one inch of space between the root ball and the sides/bottom of the pot. Excess soil takes longer to dry out. The plant can’t use up the water fast enough before the roots rot. Use well draining soil with lots of perlite, orchid bark and/or coco chunks. Get the plant more light. Water less often to let the soil dry out more. Use a commercial fungicide. There is a chance the plant will not survive with all the above efforts if the fungal growth or bacterial infection has spread through the core of the plant. Wrap and dispose of it to avoid cross contaminating other plants. 🪴🍀
