Hey all, so I have my first orchid and I definitely listened to the wrong people and had potting mix in this. I repotted it after I got it. This was one of my first plants so didn’t really know the rules of not doing that, using the orchid mix etc. I’ve just repotted it tonight with the proper mix, and gave it a water. Is this one hopefully gonna make it or seems like a goner? I don’t see any rot when I took it out and the roots looked thick and green
it looks pretty good! you should probably take it out of that decorative pot. the flowers dying is natural, don't worry about that, but the pot being too big stops light from getting to some of the leaves, which is not ideal

yes! just move the decorative pot. the nursery pot inside is perfect

The blue pot seems to be the perfect size for it! I agree with what she said about the green one being too big. ;)
1 j'aimeThanks guys! The blue pot sadly doesn’t have drainage so I’ve put into the clear one and that’s gone into the blue one
0 J'aimeThe leaves look super healthy. You can trim the flower spike to encourage it to rebloom with it. (I'll add a reference pic for that.) Also since you're new to orchids: never get water in the crown (where all the leaves meet. Dry it off if you splash there), get water directly on the roots when watering, and use room temperature water. No ice cubes
Oh ok! So sometimes there will be no leaves? I’ll give it a trim tonight
