Any suggestions on how to deal with scale? Apparently my orchid had one so I got rid of it, not too sad cause it was a single leaf, but I'm panicking since I don't want my other plants to have it T-T

If you look up thespruce on a search engine, it’s got a free article on how best to identify and combat scale

I checked out the article and it’s very comprehensive, the section for indoor plants is near the end if anyone else wants to give it a read.

Hi, I manually squish and wipe them off. If it’s a bad infestation, I take the whole plant with the pot and dunk the whole thing for 20-30 mins in a large container or bucket of water + liquid castille soap mix. If I have neem I will also add that but I’ve done this many times without. The ratio is about a tbsp of liquid castille soap to approx 4 L of water - I think that’s about a gallon if you’re not on the metric system. Let it air dry outside and then place it back. Liquid castille soap is much safer to use on plants for pest control than dish soap (I never use dish soap!). I use the Dr Bronners mint one - the small amount of mint essential oil in it has the added benefit of being a natural deterrent for pests like aphids. (Side note - this doesn’t mean you will never get those pests on your plants, of course.) I like to wipe the dead scale from my plant’s stems and leaves after getting the plant out of its scale bath. Keep monitoring this plant, scale love stems which we don’t always think to inspect. If you get the occasional one here and there, it’s usually enough to just gently scratch off or squish with your finger nail. Hope that helps! 🌿🌿🌿

That's a lot to take in, but I'll do these in the morning/tomorrow

Good luck! If it’s not seriously affected, you really don’t need to do a full dunk. If your plant is also too big for a bucket dunk, you can make the same mix in a spray bottle and just spray the plant instead. That obviously won’t penetrate down below the soil. The manual squish method is very effective though if the infestation isn’t bad. I don’t bother subjecting my plants to the dunk if it’s not necessary
