hi, i’m pretty new to plants! i was wondering if this plant is alright for this succulent? it does not have a drainage hole and it’s pretty small, but the succulent is too. this pot is adorable and i would hate to have to repot it, but if that is best for the plant i might.

Is that self watering?!? Adorable!! However, you definitely don’t want your succulents in any self watering pots. They need to dry our completely between waterings, which this pot won’t allow for. I’d repot unfortunately.

thank you! that makes sense, i heard succulents like to dry out. do you know of any kinds of plants that will do good in a pot like that? it’s so cute and i’d love to put another plant in it

I’ve found self watering pots are so hit or miss. Plants that theoretically should do well sometimes don’t. I’d experiment a bit, but any tropical type plant that likes to stay moist should do fine.

i have a pink nerve angel and a wandering jew (silver inch) that both seem to love being consistently moist. I don’t have them in self watering pots but I have to water literally like every other day so I would think they would do good self watering. I would just watch out for fungus gnats and keep a lookout for signs of root rot. I do have my venus fly trap in a self watering pot, they are just pretty difficult to take care of in my opinion. If you do happen to get one for this planter just be sure to plant in sphag moss and only use rainwater/distilled water. Love this planter tho!!! So cute

All pots need drainage holes unless you go hydroponic or use leca. If it doesn’t have one it is only good as a cache pot ie having a smaller pot w drainage holes sat inside for plants in soil

I have a couple succulents in similar pots. Very cute, but no drainage. The truth is it just makes it much harder to keep alive, but it is doable. For me, the cuteness of the pot is worth the risk of it dying. :)

If that planter is full of soil throughout, that’s way too much soil. You’ll want something that has the same sized opening, but that goes almost straight down from there. Maybe a typical 3 or 4” pot.
