Hi Planta Community, I have just recently (after a couple months of serious effort) reduced our fungus gnat problem by 99.9% I just a fresh set of these yellow sticky traps for diagnostic purposes - they’ve been on for two days (yay no gnats) but I’ve noticed these tiny tiny tiny bugs on them. Some plants more than other as u can see from the photos. We have about 20 plants about half have none at all I’d say 5 have barely any and the other 5 have some to a lot stuck on the sticky traps - I used the same bag of sand for all of our plants to lay a thin layer to help with the gnat problem so I don’t think these tiny bugs are coming from the sand. Are they harmful or just tiny soil bugs and even perhaps beneficial? The fungus gnat problem is contained for the time being so I don’t want to hurt these little babies if they aren’t causing harm. Please lmk! Thanks in advance

Unfortunately hard to tell 100% but they look like thrips to me, which I would treat all those plants for immediately.

i don’t believe these are thrips — I think they’re just soil mites. alarming when they’re plentiful, but not harmful to you or your plant
