Help! This plant is looking very dry and the leaves are turning brown. I’ve only had it 2 weeks. It has drainage and is kept in a north window. Any advice would be appreciated.🪴

Heya! That looks like it might be an aloe, but of which kind I’m not sure (I’ll look it up in a second). One more piece of info I would like to have is how often have you been watering it? If it’s always too soon, could appear dry. If it’s too late, most likely would still look dry. Check the soil to see if it is dry or not. If there’s still some dampness, maybe water it with a very small amount of water and see what happens. If it feels bone dry, deffo water it. Btw, when was it repotted (asking since looks like a reg. pot and not a nursery one)? If you repotted it as soon as you got it, that might have been one reason it’s acting like this- usually you should wait about 2-3 weeks until repotting, since it’s getting used to the climate and such. If it was given to you as a gift, and already repotted, then it might be a different case- probably one of the ones I listed above this section. Hope this helps!

Alright, so I checked and it just says mini aloe, so at least the aloe part is confirmed. Says it should be watered every 26 days, but you might want to water it more frequently- I (personally, at least) find that in the wintertime or in cold weather in general my plants soil dries out faster.

Thank you so much for the detailed response! It is in the pot it came in and I watered it twice already. I will check the soil to see if it’s wet underneath.

One a week is super often for these guys. Treat them like any succulent and only water when the soil is bone dry. Also probs needs some more light than a north facing window if you have it. I have my haworthia in an east facing and she likes that
