Hey everyone hope your all having an amazing first day of 2026! I was curious what signs of root rot are in a spider plant without looking at the roots? I’m kind of worried about my plant I searched online for signs but I wanna now how to tell if it’s truly root rot at only a certain level of a symptom or if it is there at all. I’m new to plant care my spider plant is my first plant I’ve owned and I want him to live for atleast a year

When I lost a few of mine to it the leaves were limp and falling over. Another one was turning black around the crown first and I believe it had crown rot too. Another one’s leaves were curling/folding in half almost and turning grayish. I’ve now planted my main one in the ground cause it seems to thrive there and I just take babies as they grow some roots and pot them so I can try again to grow in pots. The original one is over 30 years old and was my late moms so Im trying everything to keep it alive!

Post a picture that may help us help you better. Also they thrive on neglect. I’ve never had problems keeping them alive until after my mom passed and I inherited all her plants and baby them so much!
