First time owner of the prayer plant, purchased it grown it looked great. Repotted with tropical soil, moisture meter says “moist” gets sun thru a bathroom window which is frosted, at night I use a plant light.. the leaves are curling up and one yellow leaf. Some other leaves look healthy How do I cut/remove any dying or dead leaves Thanks

I think the leaves are curling because of the stress from the repot. Maybe try only using a plant light during the day for 12-14 hours along with the window. Plants are used to being outside where there is a day and night cycle so it might be stressed out becuse of the constant light. I wouldn’t prune the leaves that are just curled only the really yellow and dried ones. To prune disinfect a pair of gardening shears or scissors. Then snip at the bottom of the leaf but don’t hit he rest do the plant. I hope this helps!!!

Honestly, I don’t prune mine. I let the plant absorb any nutrients and shed the leaves as naturally as possible. Once they are shriveled they typically pull off really easily. Prayer plants like a lot of indirect light and to stay slightly moist but not mushy or waterlogged. Typically I let mine dry out the top half inch and then bottom water. They also can be temperamental with tap water as it contains chlorine and fluoride. Switching to distilled, filtered or RO would be a good idea as well

I have moved to distilled water for all my plants. I set tap water aside for at least 24 hours and use aquarium water conditioner to age and remove chemicals and flouride before using. You can also boil tap water but that’s too time consuming for all the plants I have. â˜ș

Can rain water be used in a barrel? I’ve seen them at tractor supply before and I’m just curious

Another source is a dehumidifier you may have running in your basement.
