Can anyone help identify what’s going on with this monstera?! Are these pests? I recently noticed some burning ok my leaves and now this sort of dusty appearing stuff. To be honest, it could be from lack of wiping but the last watering I did shower her and give her a neem treatment (preventative measure because a neighbor plant had mites). And I did dump some of that same neem treatment in to finish off watering. So could this be from that? From the dawn that was in the mixture? Please help. My delusions tell me not to worry, so I come to you all humbly begging you to tell me what this is. Thank you in advance everyone! Happy Sunday

It does kinda look like mites or thrips. I don't use dawn on plants, it's a detergent and can be harmful. Neem can cause burns to a plant, but its usually caused by the oil being applied and then sun or grow lights refracting off it. Which it wouldn't effect the underside. I know too much neem can cause plant death, but I'm not familiar with what that process looks like. If it was me I would flush the plants soil to help remove any excess neem and dawn. Shower the leaves well. And then wipe all of the leaves down with a pesticide. That will give you a base line for if more white specks show up. And if they do, I'd assume mites or thrips and treat every 4-7 days for like 2 months

I’m not sure if this is just something on the window or a possible web but I definitely think it may be some kind of pest. I only say that cause in the first picture, most of the white specks are around those brown areas more than anywhere else on the leaf, plus they’re on the bottom. Everything on the top of the leaves looks like it may be just dust. Also, if you’re putting the plant is direct sunlight while using the neem oil, it makes the plant have higher chances of “sunburn,” but I’ve had a plant of mine get sunburn (learned quickly it did not like direct sunlight at all) & yours doesn’t seem to resemble a whole lot of what mine looked like, but I also don’t know how long you had the plant outside or whatever the case may be. I’d treat the plant as best as possible & try to maybe move the plant around everyday while treating to make sure it’s not getting beat on by the sun. Hopefully you find the answers you’re looking for & good luck. 🫶🏼🪴

Thank you everyone! I did implement some of the advice received. I’m still *delusionally* hoping that perhaps it was dust and maybe burning from the neem. I did discover a super burnt leaf from the grow light. So I relocated the grow light higher, showered all dust/debris/pests away and flushed the soil. I did a thorough wipe down and inspection of each leaf and chopped one sucker leaf off. I rotated the arms of my grow lamp and will be super vigilant watching moving forward. Thank you everyone for the advice. Fingers crossed she recovers. For reference, the light was on the left wall under the light switch (where the four white dots are), now it’s about 8” higher on the back wall.
